    I have a inspiron 9300 with the nvidia go 6800. How can I tell what chipset controls the graphics subsystem

    i'd say it was the nVidia Go 6800 that handles the graphics...unless i'm interpreting ur question wrong?

    it uses the 915 chipset, as far as i know

    your graphics chip is the 6800, the mainboard chipset should the intel 915m
