So I can't have my lid in a simple color like black? Kind of disappointing. They have a "design studio" that let's me choose dozens of flashy designs, but not a simple black color one.

Well what model are you looking at? If you want a simple lid, get a Latitude E-Series or a Vostro...

I'm looking at XPS 15. It has a simple look that I like, but I would rather prefer it in black instead of grey.

^^Yeah I don't understand why they wouldn't include basic colors, like black..etc. It is not availi' on the StudioDesign line. Perhaps they will in the foreseeable future. You just never know w/Dell....

An alternative would be to get a skin for it. I checked skinit.com, and it appears they don't have anything out yet for the 15.
