I think I read somewhere before that there is a guide that allows E1705/9400 users to be able to pop out the old single-pipe heatsink and put in a the M1710 dual-pipe heatsink in its place, allowing for better cooling capabilities. When I spoke with Dell last, they did say that I can purchase the dual-pipe heatsink from them for a price (don't know how much, yet) and that I can go ahead and convert it, but they wouldn't be able to help me with any problems I have in the future unless I switch them back. Which is OK for me.
So, anyway, I can't seem to find the guide that's mentioned, even through Google. There are guides on changing the ATI card to the nVidia card, but that only helps on how to remove the case and get inside the computer. I'd like to read what modifications I have to make to fit the dual-pipe heatsink into my laptop. Any links to it?
Thanks in advance to those who help.

You'll probably get a better response in the Dell forum, so I'll put this in there for you.

I took a look around on google. My research reveals that it is just a tab that needs removed. This guide may be of help as it involves upgrading to a dual-pipe 7900 gtx. They mention that you will require a 130W power brick in order to run the laptop on AC. The 90W one will not be sufficient anymore.
On that note you can sometimes call up Dell Spare Parts and get a part through them even if it isn't supported on your laptop. It just needs to work on that laptop. Talk to them and see if they can ship you one. It will be expensive though. Myself nor the author of the guide take any responsibility for any damage on your laptop. The Dell warranty for the video card will be void and any damages caused by the upgrade process will not be covered. In order for Dell to be able to troubleshoot screen issues you must be able to restore the system back to a factory state and reverse any hardware changes done to the system. -
You will know what to remove when you actually started to install the card by yourself. It's not that hard. I've seen some threads on NBforum talks about this. They're expert in moding upgrade video cards... crazy people over there in overclocking.
Contact Bal`thaz if he has any spareparts for you to purchase. If you have the 7900GS , it's pretty fast for playing most games now.

Looking at the pictures between the Single-Pipe and the Dual-Pipe heatsinks, the Dual-Pipe looks like it should fit right in without much trouble. I just need to figure out which tab I need to remove to get it to fit without problems. And Dell said the warranty won't cover the Dual-Pipe conversion, but they'll happy to help when I revert everything back to normal. Which is better than the usual "Modify it and you're screwed forever" warranties other companies have.
BTW, shinji, was there a link that was to lead to a guide? I still can't find anything... -
Do a search for 'single-pipe dual-pipe e1705' on google leaving out the single quotes. You will find the guide that way. I thought I included the link but those were the terms I used during the search. Oh and you will hit this thread as the first hit so...

Ah, well, I guess searching for 9400 won't get many results as e1705 would...
Looking through everything, I can only tell that there is a tab on the laptop chassis that needs to be removed to make it fit. I guess the only way to determine what tab that is is by getting the dual pipe and trying to fit it in and take out the tab that is in the way. -
If you just take your laptop apart (I did it to apply AS5 to the CPU and GPU), the piece of plastic you have to remove becomes very apparent. You don't even need to have a dual pipe card to realize, as soon as you look inside the case, where the tab is. I've seen a few guides posted at NBF but I still wasn't clear until I just took my laptop apart.
