    Slow Installation on vostro

    I have a vostro 1500 (specs in the sig).

    It takes forever to install a game (crysis, gears of war). I have another laptop (HP Compaq 6720) with 120gb hDD, 1 gig ram and windows XP and it takes only a third of the time the vostro takes and its not even running on SATA native mode.

    The vostro is running on Vista. So what could be the issue here?

    Is your Hard drive 5400 or 7200 RPM?

    Its 5400rpm but the hard drives on both the laptops (vostro and the HP) are 5400 rpm, but the installations on HP are much faster.
