Hi, I have a 1720 that I purchased 3 months ago, one thing has bugged me more than the others and it's the slow processing of some tasks like formating my old 1gb memory card or my WD 120gb passport...

for example the 1gb memory card takes more than 1 minute to format compared to 5 seconds with my 5 years old Dell PC at home

the WD passport took me more than an hour tonight to format

even unloading and loading files on the memory card takes a long time compared to the home pc.

is there something wrong with the laptop? or i am wrong to expect similar performance from this new machine compared to an old P4 2.4GHz with only 256mb of ram

the new laptop has these specs T7300, 2GB ram,160G 5400RPM
