I received my Inspiron 1520 about 2 weeks and so far it's been great. However, 2 days ago a small point of red light appeared on my display (1440 x 900). It's very small but very noticeable when there is a dark background but seems to disappear when the background is lighter. It is very anoying when trying to watch a video. Is it something I should be conccerned about or try to get fixed or just learn to live with it? Any help will be appreciated.

from what you describe you have 2 dead subpixels... that is... the green and blue one on that pixel... only the red works... OR they are all working ... just NOT as they should...

    it happens on lcd screens...

check your warranty... see if you can exchange it... also try to gently massage the screen (maybe you get lucky and it goes away or stays blank)

i had a green one... once about 2 years ago on a desktop monitor... gave the monitor to my brother... the green dot is still there... and like you said... only on black backgrounds.

umm most manufacturers say you have to have 6 dead pixels to return under warranty. however, dell is better about this, especially if its with in your 30 days.

The red light has disappeared from my display. Samov I tried the massage trick. Maybe that did it! I am happy again :)
