How do I, as single user take advantage of the Smart Card capabilty of my Latitude D410.

All of the included and available documentation seems to presume that the user already has a working familiarity and a source for the actual smart card.

I would like to utilize a Smart Card to limit access to my unit, as I do not have a fingerprint reader and I don't want to use passwords.

Question: Where do I buy a Smart Card, and second how do I found out how to implemement it? Dell is of no help.

I believe you can get one at SanDisk, although I'm not sure whether they will sell quantity=1 to a consumer or not. Software wise, I think the Dell machine should come with a software (mine came with a TPM 1.2 suite or something like that - I have since uninstalled it so I can't check it for you right now), although, again, I have never look into the software to tell whether you can just buy a smart card from SanDisk, and perform the implementation yourself, whether the included software can configure the smart card so that you can create a PIN and use it when ever you log into your computer.
