I need it for school so yes I plan on carrying it around. It's mainly for school project stuff and light gaming. I might need to use some math software for my major but that's probably the most extreme its gonna get.

If you can afford $960 I'd upgrade to the Core 2 Duo 7300 but other than that it looks good. Probably would also opt for the bigger battery if I were you - I imagine you'll be doing things like taking it to study sessions and what not right?
