M1330 is great looking so far! Outside appearance is very sleak however it does feel quite a bit more flimsy than my M1210.

My M1210 had IRQ issues under Windows XP with bluetooth/webcam/audio stuff that couldn't be "fixed" to my satisfaction.

New M1330 is configured as followed:
    Windows XP Pro SP2
    T7500
    100GB HDD
    3GB RAM
    9-Cell Battery
    LED Display w/.3MP
    Bluetooth 355
    Intel N Wifi
    DW5520 AT&T Mobile Broadband

Came with a bluetooth mouse, nice little case, and leather cd binder as well.

The screen is just amazing on this sucker! It makes my M1210 look dull and washed out. The viewing angle is also much better as well as the back-light bleed through.

Overall I'm pretty impressed. I spent $900 on my originally configured M1210 decked out through AAFES. Got a ~$200 concession coupone, which I eBay'd, so I spent $700 on this new M1330 which I just priced out on Dell for $2,200

They also extended my warranty for an additional 2-years! Great for me!

XPS technical support is very good and this exchange has been great so far.

I'll be sad to see my M1210 go...It had a good year long run but the boot problems were so intermittent the laptop wasn't reliable enough for school (having a 100% working laptop is imperative for examsoft laptop based exams).

Wow...congratulations. I hope you enjoy the m1330. How did you get them to extend you warranty? Usually when you are given a system exchange, the unit just takes over your old warranty.

Cool! I have M1330 too and I love mine so far I've had it for about 2 weeks now and haven't had any unfixable problems with it at all. I had one simple problem with it and it was easily fixed with reinstallation of Symantec Internet Security because it would not show up as firewall or antivirus in windows security center! The service and fix was very easy and the customer service was awesome! The best I've ever experienced thus far in all the computers I have bought it was the best and fairly faster then expected too! YEEHAW! love it and reccomend it to anyone who is looking for a nice thin, light and portable machine with a lot of power for the size and the cool factor of it too! You made a very good choice in my opinion!

Not sure but my warranty is listed as being an additional two years on the 1330 service tag.

Just saw your post and had to write & mention that I had the same exchange take place last week: my trusty M1210 had a weird unresolvable software problem, so they just suggested that they swap it for a new 1330. And they did. Bit of an upgrade all around because they didn't have the exact configuration of my M1210 so they just gave me the closest they have in an M1330, rounding up.
But yeah, I didn't get any warrant extension. Just the same remaining amount that's still on the M1210.
But just like you, I do hate to see the M1210 go; I have to send it back this week and I'm dragging my feet. I like the size and the feel of the M1210. But you're right: side-by-side the M1330 is much brighter and clearer.

Except hey: what about that ugly, honkin' 9-cell monstrocity they call a battery? It just destroyes the nice sleek look of this laptop.

    Good luck with your 1330

btw, the reason I'm on this fourm is I'm looking for directions on installing bluetooth in my new 1330. Took the one out of the M1210 but now I can't find where to install it on the 1330.
The search on the Dell site brought up nothing about this. Neither on this notebookreview forum.
    I'm stumped. Any idea?

You can download the m1330 service manual. Details are included there. Basically, you have to remove the hinge caps of the right and left side of the keyboard. Then you have to remove the name plate bezel and the bluetooth module is underneath it on the left-hand side.
