Best would be defined by what your needs are. Since I do not know what those are, hard for me to say. I personally would get the minimum memory and upgrade myself and the 7200RPM hard drive, but thats me.

I thought upgrading to the 7200rpm right now was a waste of money because they just came out and are very pricey? My needs are games/school work...is 1.73ghz sufficient for all the games out right now?

The 5400RPM is certainly a better value.

You'll not be disappointed but You'll certainly be impressed the way games run with 1 gig ram....considering you already got Nvidia it shouldn't be hard to spend another 90 stones...

Ya the Dell 1GB upgrade is $125, i figured it would be better to just get it with the 2X256, then buy a 1gig stick of better qualty(kingston or mushkin) for $90 off newegg, then add it to the laptop, so id have 1GIG stick plus a 256mb stick

go to www.gotapex.com for the latest coupons. Dell coupons come out every Thursday morning with a cap of 4000 uses, so usually they expire within 24 hours. You have to jump on them fast or else you'll have to wait for another week.
