    Hi,

After some consideration, I'm thinking of getting this laptop. I've heard of some issues with the laptop (CPU whine, build issues, etc). But I've also heard these issues have been sorted out since its initial release.

What's the deal with this laptop then? Is it a good buy or do these niggling issues still remain?

Any other issues with the laptop worth knowing about?

Also, is anyone aware of a newer/better version of this laptop being released anytime soon (for example a higher res screen like what they did with the M1530)?

    Sorry for too many questions!

There are issues with every laptop, and generally you'll only notice them if you go look for them. Like that saying if you are looking to find a problem you're gonna find one. But in general it has gotten better from its initial release, and right now with the $799 deal I thought it was a great time to buy and i did =), and hopefully it'll come perfect. And there will probably be a new version with the penryn processors coming out, but they will be expensive so it's up to you.

I absolutely love my m1330! I've had it for just about 6 months now and I still haven't seen anything else I like better.

Probably won't see any kind of refresh or new model to replace the m1330 for at least another 6 months.

Some issues such as the whine remain but the build quality is very nice now.

The laptop is good. Go for it :p
There might be a newer version..Iunno..
But there are all these discounts right now so yeah..now would be a good time to buy one

In general you will hear the bad before the good. With any new system it needs time to work out initial kinks and growing pains. With that said when it comes to technology you really get what you pay for and with dell you get the best bang for your buck.

I think your chances of seeing issues reported early are pretty slim. The only real issue I see you facing is wait time for the system. That's about it.

If you really care about higher resolution and not so much small laptop the xps1530 is great one to buy, also with very good discount right now.
You can also sheck the reviews at Dell.com regarding these two computers there are lots of them ..

I love mine!! Been customizing mine for 3 days, and I'm very pleased. I can only compare it too the previous laptops I've owned...Inspiron 5150, E1705, and Vostro 1500...This one blows them away!!!

Also, if you were wondering about a higher resolution for the m1330. I really don't think you need to worry about that

I mean, it is a 13.3 inch screen. You'll be squinting and hurting your eyes if the resolution went up any higher. :p

1280x800 is a good resolution for a 13 inch laptop

    I will admit I prefer 1440 x 900. I have that currently with my 14 inch widescreen 640M I am hoping 1280 x 800 is good enough.
