First I got upgraded to Priority overnight...I had already paid the $39 for 2nd day
Second I got $75 off my order
Thirdly(today) They removed the $39 I paid for 2nd day air

Any tips on how to get credit from Dell? I have called customer service a few times, and have only been offered a free upgrade to next day shipping. I ordered my 1520 on July 5th. It'll almost be TWO months before I get it.

It may or may not have been a joke but, and this isn't met in a negative way toward any group, Dells failure in this whole program shows many of how deep seated ones prejudisms lie.
I, for example, believe that if Im calling Dell Canada, I should have the right to speak with someone in Canada, and similarly US citizens should have that right.
I have had extreme communications problems in this process.
Wouldn't it be proper to keep the jobs in our own countries for the betterment of our countries.
Having said that, a person in India should be entitled to speak with someone in India. Its a fact of being able to understand ones geographic and demographic background.
I can say, without a doubt, the lack of some to understand English while speaking to English customers, doesnt leave English as the only language of concern.
Im absolutely sure someone in India has become just as frustrated at an English speaking CSR.
Did I get through that though without raising everyones blood??? -
I want some compensation. I would be happy with $100 credit to my account. I already got free overnight shipping. I'm honestly so paranoid right now that I'm scared to ask for compensation. I'm scared I'll piss 'em off and they'll cancel my entire order! My current laptop is gonna die on me soon, and the thought of them canceling on me freaks me out!

I just got on their chat system. Began discussing my order status with the woman, then went over any possible compensation. First she stated a free bag but I told her about money coupons in which she offered $35. I knew this was too low, so with a bit of talking she left to check info, and came back to offer $50. Again I knew this is too low so I kept it going, she left for a few mins again to check records and I got it up to $100 in which I just accepted it =] I feel good hahaha. And a big thanks to rtracer for telling me to check it out, thanks a lot.

I got on the chat to get money of course. I did the order status one in order to eventually build my case for compensation because I painted my picture of how I keep getting delays and false info first, then I simply asked about any compensation i'd be able to recieve. After about 20 mins of discussing the matter and deepening my point I got her to go to $100.

delayed from 8/2 to 8/28
first offered a $25 coupon, then a $50 coupon, finally a $50 credit which i took because they wouldn't go any higher. i will try again later for another $50 credit. i will be happy to wait for a $100 credit. -
I am glad everyone else was able to get something. The best they could offer me was a $20.00 discount off my order. It will be almost 2 months since I ordered that I receive my laptop, assuming that it actually ships this time.

You really have to enforce your point of why you should recieve compensation, the woman I spoke to on the chat said a few times that she was "going out of her way" to do the offer she was offering, which started at $35.00 but I know that it was BS so I just kept pressing. Never once did she give me a solid "No sir I can not go any higher" she just kept offering me what I could recieve and would never give me an absolute no, therefore I kept going, very kindly, till I got her up to $100.00

It was a $100 coupon that will go to any purchase I make. I asked if I could get it to reduce the price of my laptop but she said no it can't so I just accepted it. I planned on buying more stuff from Dell anyway so it didn't matter much.

How soon do you get this $100? I was offered $100 when I ordered, but it doesn't come until 4-6 weeks after the order is delivered (ensures that customers don't return their order but still receive the coupon). Just wondering if you get that instantly...

^ Exactly, there really is not beating around the bush with this just clearly request that you want compensation, in great detail list your grievences and keep to it and it works great. She said my coupon would be emailed to me within 7 business days.

Already had free overnight, but just got a $100 credit for the delay.... they wanted to give me a coupon, but I should have a 100 coupon on the way too once it ships.
