Supposedly, they are refreshing the XPS line - it will no longer be called Inspiron, just XPS. And, it will be avaliable with a 256MB Go7800GTX. I assume that that card would also be offered in the refreshed Inspiron 9300. But, we won't know until they actually are released on the 29th. ;)

Are they also making any modifications to the 700m or i6000 lines? Maybe refreshed components? Latest Sonoma technology or dedicated graphics on a small 700m type machine-if that is possible?

when you buy a DELL, you have 21 days to get a better price. So let's say your notebook starts at $1300...and it drops to $1200 two weeks later. You call cust service and they refund you the $100. (It has to be more than $50 tho)

it used to be 30 days before...

however, you have to fight it, going through multiple csr, if u bought it under coupon deals...

they will tell you that the coupon already expired so they can't honor the previous price and so on...

it might not be worth the trouble... most ppl just return and rebuy...

The soo called "lexus" line will be making its debut on september 29th, this will be an xps M170 ( an xps with the 7800 gtx card) and the xps m140 ( a 14 inch widescreen).
Ofcourse dell wont be calling them "lexus" as many refer to this new line, they will be priced above the inspirons and the m170 will be priced above the current xps gen2 as well. I wouldnt count on ANY discounts or coupons on these systems as the lexus is tiered above the current laptop lines. Is it worth waiting for? that depends, what are you looking at now?
I would say that the m140 will be something a bit beefier in graphics as compared to the 6000D but no one knows yet. As for the m170 it will have the 7800gtx card and carry a hefty price tag to boot and only about a 20 percent boost in graphics performance over the xps gen2's 6800 ultra card.

Ya im not going for anything that fancy, im not even looking at a XPS, i have my eyes set on the 9300, but if they are going to have some good coupons for christmas, and maybe lower the prices or add some new stuff in with this update thing, then im down to wait a month or 2

EDIT: And im actually thinking now to go with the 6000 series because you got PCI express graphics and the more i read about how huge and pointless the 17" widescreen is, the more it makes me want to settle for the 15.4

interesting, so it comes down to is there a purpose for a 17" screen or not. One question, when you play video games, do the games look all stretched out because of the widscreen?
