I am having problems getting TotalWar: Shogun2 to play on my 2 day old 15r S.E. When I play I'm getting pretty crappy graphics and a low frame-rate. When I check the game's settings it shows me as running off of the Intel 4000. I have set Enduro to high performance which I assume means the PC should be using the 7730, but when I go back into the game, lo and behold, Intel 4000. Looking around online, I see a number of issues with this card, but I can't claim to understand what's going on. Can anyone fill me in or point me in the direction of a fix?

I think if you have an AMD graphics card, there should be Catalyst Control center of some sort where you should pick the processes that need high processing power of your dedicated AMD GPU.

Another problem might be that the drivers are out of date and if not, then there's probably an update that's coming soon.

Yeah, the CCC is what I used to set the graphics to High Performance, but still it switched to Intel 4000 when I start the game. I have all the latest drivers (which AMD sems to make a difficult as possible) and still, bupkiss.

Then, are you playing your games with power plug in or out? There might be some different power settings set up, even for the plugged in power mode. You should check them.

Plugged in, I figured it would switch to power save if unplugged, but it doesn't seem to make a difference either way. Looking around on the web, I'm coming across some worrisome pages. That there's a fatal hardware conflict, and that AMD has been deleting threads and ignoring customer complaints. I'm kinda pissed. This is my first new PC in 11 years, and I was kinda hoping to be blown away.

Just checked my Fps - 15.6 at 720p dx11. I'm pretty sure it should be able to do better than that.

Check on the internet how to change laptops power options, I remember I had a similar problem with my old HP laptop which had an AMD graphics card and that the windows power options were by default set to power saving when the power plug was plugged in. It's not those CCC controls that you need, I think they're windows power management controls that you need to work with now, I can't actually check it myself where to find them, because I'm waiting for my new 7720 to arrive.

Also if you actually don't want to change them manually, you might want to install Game Booster (I think it's free now) as it automatically installs a power management option which maximizes all the processing power of the machine.

Alright, tried what you recommended, and even when using the Windows controls I still get the Intel card when playing, plugged or unplugged. I might try that Game Booster. I'll let you know.

    Anyone else dealing with this?
