If you go to http://www.dellunleashed.com/ there is a $100 off coupon you can have emailed to the .edu email address you registered with. The only problem is, when I try to apply this to an XPS M1330, it only takes off $50. The coupon says it works on basically any PC, so I'm not sure what I may be doing wrong. Is anyone else getting this problem?

    Thanks.

That coupon doesn't combine with any other offer, so I'm guessing it's getting rid of a $50 "Instant Savings" and making it seem like it's only good for $50. Or they could figure they don't need/want to give any breaks on the M1330, with it being new and selling like crazy anyway.

I haven't done it myself, or anything, but that's what it seems like to me.

I'm positive there are no other instant savings on the M1330. The coupon, after entered, clearly states that it only discounts $50...

Then that's probably because it's the brand new system that's selling just fine without any coupons.

This is a different coupon than the $200 Inspiron one.

Same thing happened to me when I tried to use that coupon awhile ago. It only gave 50$ off of the machines I used it with. Only advantage this one had over the 200$ coupon was that it worked for the XPS. It doesn't stack w/ the 200$ coupon either for inspirons. At first... I thought my coupon was messed up or something, but I didnt care because I was going to use the 200$ one anyways

I called Dell EPP and asked about this. My sales rep was very nice--he built a new system from my original specs and spoke with his manager about the coupon. Less than a minute later they gave me the full $100 off.

I would suggest you call in your order. I did it both ways. For the same system, the phone route cost less and will ship 7 days sooner (8/20 instead of 8/27). By signing up for the Dell credit card you also get a $75 gift certificate.

    Good luck!

Wow, that's cool. Hey, about that credit card, can you get no interest for 12 months on XPS machines with that? And does the $75 gift certificate apply to the system you just bought or only to future purchases?

    Thanks!

That coupons retarded. What a bunch of false advertisement.

GEEZ! CHRSJAV you are one lucky person! I called in at the number they give you on your "school discount page" and the representative Natalie was RUDE. I informed her of the problem and she kept saying, "we must listen to what the coupon code says (as if it was a supreme being)." When I asked if I could speak with her manager, she replied, "He can't help you either." She then was really annoyed with me (God knows why?!) and then asked in this frustrated tone, "are you still interested in purchasing?" After I replied, "no," she hung up on me.

Chrsjav, can you do me a favor and let me know what number you called? And if you remember, with whom did you speak to? If you could, it'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I also got the rep to apply the $100 for me as well after he talked to his manager about it. THe reason why they might not let you use it is because the coupon says that you get $100 off your order when you purchase through MY Gift Registry on the Dell Unleashed site. I convinced the guy that I didn't think that was what it said, even though is does say that. So after while I convinved him to give it to me ontop of the 12% discount and 7% Dell Care. That also may be why when people, including me, tried to enter it online, it only took off $50

Do you remember who you spoke with, or the number you called Chikachic817? Did you purchase the computer on the phone as well?

    I called the number here....

"You can place your order online or call a Dell sales representative at 1-888-987-3355 to assist you with your purchase. If calling, please be sure to mention your schools unique member ID to ensure you get your special discount."

    Thanks!

I've figured out what's going on.

I think they've changed the $50 coupons to $100 coupons, and the $200 is now $250. The old codes, however, still redeem for $50/200.

Here's how to get the newer coupons: sign up for the gift registry on the site (the e-mail you get with your original coupon has a sign-up link). After you register, you can go to the 'Manage Your Gift Registry' page and there are two buttons on there - one for the $100 coupon and one for the $250. Click on each of them and you'll get an e-mail with both a $100 and $250 coupon.

I have checked and the two codes they gave me are both different than the first codes I received, and they also do show the correct amounts in the shopping cart.
