i ordered my e1505 late November, put in my order for the free upgrade to Vista through www.dellvistaupgrade.com

Order status still says "pending." What is everybody else's saying (who is in the same boat as me)? I was expecting Vista a couple days after release, but it still has yet to ship.

The upgrades are handled by Moduslink which is horribly backlogged (Microsoft chose Moduslink as the upgrade company)

If I were you I wouldn't expect if till April or after, it wouldn't hurt seeing as your status is still pending to call them up and make sure they have all your information.

Information being COA, Proof of Purchase, Sales Receipt, and UPC.

In my view, this was a huge mistake on MS's part...they lost a few people's trust by now I'm sure.

No one has moved out of pending as far as I know, but I think/hope that they will be shipped before april.

Still pending. It sucks that it might not be until April that we get our upgrades to Vista. So much for an 'express' upgrade.

Actually the long delay is really a blessing in disguise. Right now most people that have "pending" status are running efficient stable machines with full functionailty while most that are running vista right now are not. It appears an autoupdate that ran this morning is causing my desktop to crash randomly and often, at least 15 times in the last 8 hours, with no specific trigger.

"When will I receive my Express Upgrade to Windows Vista™ DVD and upgrade package and will I have an option for a CD-format?
Dell’s goal is to make the upgrade package available four to eight weeks after the Windows Vista general availability launch date. It is a requirement that participating Dell systems must be configured with a DVD-ROM to participate in this program."

thats from the FAQ on there...
