512MB2 NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7950 GTX or NVIDIA®GeForce®8700M GT graphics? I am assuming its the 8700M GT, but on the alienware website it seems the 7950 GTX is better? I'm a little confused lol :D

The 7950 gtx is way better. Here is a basic outline in terms of card performances:
    8800 m gtx>7950 gtx>8700 gt

Not way better but the 8700GT is somewhat limited by it´s 128 bit, this only at higher resolutiong and with AA and AF. The 8700GT crushes the 7950GTX in raw shader performance and that is what counts since newer games like Crysis uses shaders extensively and future games will too.

Now I don´t know what the dual rank 128 bit bus does, but I assume it is better than a single 128bit bus like it is on the 8600m GT.

Also the 8700m GT is way cooler than the 7950GTX, the 8700m GT is a very overclocking friendly card, you can overclock it a lot.

    Take a look here:

    http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=535&card2=465

See the bandwidth is what limits the 8700M GT at higher resolutions, else it´s a great card and a great overclocker.

If you want to play DX9 games at ultra high rez then get the 7950gtx. that is basically the top end DX9 card available. If you think you'll be playing newer games, then I might recommend getting the 8700. If you want high performance and the shader eye candy, stretch your budget and get an 8800m gtx.

The 7950 at the end of the day is the better overall balanced card.
