Alright, I'm getting really close to calling in and ordering an XPS M1330. I have a $100 off coupon from Dell Unleashed (which is only showing up as $50 right now on the website, but I should be able to get it corrected when I call) and the 6% student discount. If I sign up for a Dell Preferred Account, I get 12 months no interested financing on XPS machines, but what else? I heard people getting an extra $75 off their order? Or maybe a $75 gift card for future spending? Or maybe 4% additional off their order? Or maybe all of these? Which is it?![]()
On top of that, maybe I'll be able to haggle the rep to give me the additional $50 or $75 "persistence" discount.![]()

None, no other rewards. I did get the 12 months no interest financing. Without that, I wouldn't have ordered an XPS. Their APR's are through the roof!

Yeah... the APRs are known to be ridiculously high, its a pain to manage, they make everything as difficult as it could be. Only reason to get one would be the 12 month no interest financing for an XPS purchase, even then you should pay it off as soon as those 12 months are up. They can jack up the already high APRs even higher if for some reason you miss a payment, etc.

Yeah, have to make sure it's paid off before those 12 months are up...
So, there's nothing else?
Thanks. -
I always get at least 4% off from all EPP purchases when using my DPA (you need to ask for it though).

You know, I always hear people say it's difficult to manage. Maybe I'm just a financial wizard but I've had a DPA account for several years and I've never had a problem working with them. But then, I've never had a problem period. I pay my bill, I pay off my computers, never an issue. I've left it unused for many months and it's not been cancelled on me or anything as I've heard about happening. I've never had payments misapplied or anything of that sort. Maybe I'm just lucky...
So, what are all the benefits of getting a Dell Preferred Account?
