    So...Dell gave me a free audio thing upgrade...now what does it do?

    I asked for some OS disks and they gave me some repeats...as well as this new one.

    Now what does this do? Does it solve any clipping issues with music?

    could you please be more specific as to what the disk is called? they might have given you integrated audigy soundcard sort of thing (as opposed to sigmatel)

    Ok, how about you actually explain what the disc says on it or what Dell sent you.

    I suspect its the SB Audigy Software Edition disc+license key.

    It is the Audigy Advanced MB Sound Blaster from Creative.

    It gave me some equalizer options.

    Yep, that's basically what it does. It enhances sound quality and gives you more option.

    It won't fix clipping because that's a mp3 problem, not a sound problem.

    I think you already answered the question Waveblade..
    Just gives you more control on audio output quality.
