This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I just received my 640m and am doing a complete reinstall at the moment.
    I was wondering if you Dell users could recommend software to install on the comp. I know I8k is one of them but is there any others that you would recommend to use?

    I have some:

    TuneUp Utilities 2006 - Good for cleaning up registry and tweaking.
    Diskeeper Disk Defragmenter - A lot better than the one built in Windows.
    SpywareBlaster
    Spybot Search and Destroy
    Get a good virus scanner and firewall (I have McAfee, it's ok)
