I think I have found a good solution to this problem. It seems to be something with Vistas power saving features on the cpu that is not really right. If you set the lowest cpu to 5% the lowest it will get is 1600 MHz, in that state the cpu will start to whine. But if I change it to 100% the actual value of the lowest speed will be 1200 MHz, in that speed the whine is gone, also when the processor (T7500) is in its highest state there is no whine. So I guess the bios will control the speed if you put it in 100% in both low and high mode. What do you guys think of this?

Any comments?

Do you have any idea if the CPU whine is only present in certain CPU models like the T7700? Or is it a Vista specific issue?
As for your solution: What exactly do you mean by setting the CPU to a certain percentage? Is it a windows or BIOS setting?
Anyway thanks for the suggestion (+rep) and welcome to the forums! -
I wish I could see the words like C3, C4 states, and to eliminate the whine by using RMclock to disable the popup mode...
