So I placed an order last week for a Vostro 1500. I wanted to upgrade to Vista Premium, so I called Dell CS. Let me just say how much better it is to speak to a US based CSR, than one located in another country. When I ordered my Inspiron, it literally took 2 1/2 hours to clear up an issue when dealing with a CSR in the Philippines, and I eventually just hung up the phone.
When I called the business CSR, it initially started off shaky. The CSR said I could not upgrade to Premium. I told him to please check again. After a minute or so he came back, apologized, and said it would be no problem. I had to pay the $29 BUT.... he expedited the build, upgraded me to free overnight shipping, and after telling him my concerns about the LCD bleeding and graininess issues, stated he would make sure the best LCD would be used in the build.
Now, I have not received it yet, so I can't comment on whether the LCD is indeed a good one, but I do know that I placed the order on Friday, and it is already in the boxing state today (Monday). The initial estimated ship date before I called the CSR was the 19th of next month, 3 weeks out.
Just goes to show..... it's all about who you reach at dell.

How can you get yours so fast, are the Irish lazy gits or do CSR's and factory workers use time machines?!?!
-
lol.......first of all they all make promises. second they give the next day delivery to pretty much everyone....and it doesnt exist...its just dhl express which is 1-6 days
i have talked to 4 different reps fo far and am still waiting for a tracking number on my system...i have no idea when it is coming, most likely it will come after i leave for college. so please don't believe what they tell you until they actually act by it and you see it with your own eyes. -
from my experience i have learnt a lesson, and i vowed that i will never ever trust a dell rep in a million yrs -
