Hello fine people of the forum!

Im getting ready to order my Inspiron 1520 in a few weeks.

I have already had an Inspiron 9300 and what I enjoyed with this machine was the amazing sound the built in speakers and subwoofer had in comparison to other laptops.
So my question is if there is a subwoofer on the 1520 or 1720?

I also wonder if its worth the extra $240 upgrade from the 160 GB (5400 rpm) to the same with 7200rpm?

And last but not least what the difference are between the 15,4-inch widescreen WXGA+ (1440 x 900) TFT-screen with TrueLife and the 15,4-inch UltraSharp™ widescreen WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050) except the resolution.

    Thanks for replies!

Hard Drive: God no! if it was a $50 increase like it was when i saw it i'd say it was up to you, but not for 240.

Screen: I have heard that the 1440*900 is a bit brighter than the larger resolution one.

Hard Drive: I was thinking the same thing. Damn Norwegian taxes and what not.

Screen: Cool, though i am a fan of high resoultion becasue of the increased workspace brightness is also a thing to think about.

    Dell dropped the subwoofer thing.

And yes, here are HUGE differences between those screens. The 1680x1050 is a better panel with sharper colors for sure. The 1440x900 screen is actually pretty good too.

Ok, hows the sound without the subwoofer? Any good?

    - I'm pretty sure that i'll go with the 1680x1050 screen. I just needed some other opinions on it to see what the options were.
