For a lack of a better word, my Dell Rep just sucked when I placed my order. So, I contacted his/her manager, and they got back to me. I told him/her that I was interested in maybe modifying my order, and I called the Rep and it was like I didn't exist. He/She got their sale, got their commission, and isn't wanting to help out because they get nothing else for it. So I told the Manager, I was interested in the 7200RPM drive, and CompleteCare w/ LoJack. This Manager was AMAZING, and said he would order it again with upgrades at little or no cost to me. Since I was reordering, I also fell under the 2GB of RAM upgrade (so I can get more money when I sell my RAM after I take it out!). Needless to say, this was my machine:

But this is what I now have:

He said he'd be sure to call and get me at the front of the production queue on Monday, because he knows that I was expecting a system in 3-4 days now...and now need to wait. This was a very great experience, it shows you that Dell does have a few bad apples (like many organizations in this world), but Dell's fantastic customer service reins supreme.

Can you PM me the name/number/extension of the manager? Every time I ask to speak to a manager I get !*$&ing bounced around to someone who I believe is just another employee impersonating a manager. =\

Every Manager is different, you need to get their DIRECT manager. Your best bet is to somehow get them to e-mail you, most rep's have their manager's name in their signature. As for the expedite request, I know rep's say that because Dell's always ship before the expected ship date - but this is a manager, who guaranteed me that he can expedite my system - and he explained what that was, and how when they get the request they rearrange the queue to put your's first.
