    So, I requested Media Direct 3.0 from Dell, but I got 2.0. Of course, I did this through the Chat service. A number would be useful, along with the specific Media Direct 3.0 "part number."

    I don't know if this is gonna be any help, but on my CD all it says is P/N FT243 REV.A00.

    Perhaps you could call someone in Dell to request for the CD instead?

    I am on the phone now with Dell, and she is acting as if she has no idea what Media Direct is. I told her what it is, and that my laptop came with 2.0 and that I would like to request a Media Direct 3.0 DVD so that I may upgrade. She is checking now..I think.

    Well, I finally got through to her after about 30 minutes. I specifically made sure that she was sending me Media Direct 3.o, which is on a DVD. It should be here tomorrow or Thursday. I guess we'll see.

    I don't remember if I got my E1705 with 2.0 but if I did, CAN I REQUEST a 3.0 DVD for FREE???

    Yes, you can. Just contact Dell Support and request it. Be very specific and make sure they know exactly what it is you want.
