For the last 45 minutes or so (from ~945am EST to now), I haven't been able to configure laptops on Dell's website (or consequently, check prices/buy one). I checked the XPS's and the Studios, the Latitudes and the Vostros, and the only one that would 'work' is the D830, and even that was a mistake - I clicked a "Customize It" button while looking at a Vostro and it took me to a page to customize the D830. Sometimes there is no "Customize It" button, other times the "Customize It" button, when clicked, just refreshes the page.
What's up? Is Dell revamping their website, getting ready for the new processor release and to update their models? Are they going to be posting several new computers (the Latitudes, perhaps... that's be sweet)? Or, might this have something to do with the 10 days of deals?
Anyone else having this problem?

I'm having the same problem. I'm hoping its because they're revamping their offerings.
-
Yeah, hopefully.
I wants a 1730 with an LED backlight (preferably lower resolution option too)...throw in an updated GPU if there is one, and ditch the Agiea card... -
Per the Dell sales rep I'm chatting with, they are updating their systems and they do have some of the new Intel processors available. Yay! I'm curious as to what the pricing is going to be when they're done updating. I hope they remove the Verizon Wireless card from their better promotions.
-
Well....maybe they have the new processors. She didn't know which new ones, but the P9500 wasn't one of them. The site is supposed to be back up and running in the next 2 hours.
-
If you keep refreshing, you might get lucky and catch a glimpse of a leak.
-
It looks like its back up now. I just looked at the XPS M1530 and nothing changed. No new processors. Ditto the Studio 15.
-
Yup, really had you there didn't it.
-
Yeah, you would have thought SOMETHING was happening.
Wish I could use the 25% off coupon on the EPP store! As it is, it seems to actually be cheaper to buy the XPS through the home store right now... -
paper_wastage Beat this 7x7x7 Cube
its still cheaper to buy a loaded system in epp....
-
25% beats out EPP.

I just got a 1330 with T8300, 3GB RAM, x3100, LED, 160gb 7200rpm, dell wireless-g, 6hr batt, 4 year warranty + accident, for ~1450 + tax/shipping. Not the best deal in the world but those parts are hard to come by together.
(usually you get the nvidia card, or you give up the 7200 hdd or you're forced to 4gb ram or the wireless n)
Similar config was more with the coupons and I couldn't get certain options. HDD was especially a deal killer for me.
If anyone cares, on EPP look for the 'nomad' deal and you can remove the GPS in your cart saving you an extra $200 (config to $1800+ before cart for the 12%)
It will be interesting to see what you can get as far as montevina + integrated graphics. -
I can't get it close through the EPP store, and I'm looking at a fairly decked out system.
1530, 2.5Ghz/800MHz/6MB Core 2
2GB RAM
Geforce 8600GT
LED backlit screen
X-Fi
3 year complete care
Plus a bunch of other extras, and it seems to be hundreds less through the home store. -
I noticed this problem this morning. I thought maybe we'd get lucky today.
-
Id be happy if we get a leak of some sort. Not that it really matters since I've already got my M1530 and the prices will be high. Though it would be interesting to see if the new Dell really slaughters the M1530.
Something up with Dell's website...
