Problem is, I can drag and drop files onto cd-rws with my current laptop, and I'm pretty sure I don't have that sonic ****. Is this really required after I reformat my "boxing" e1505?

I haven't investigated that too much, but I don't think it's needed w/o the Sonic RecordNow et al software....

Hello, I use Roxio (formally Sonic) DLA. It is extactly you have describe. It just like a floppy drive, or flash drive. When you install DLA program, it will allow you to transfer in to your CD or DVD (any type, DVD-/+R/RW, CDR/RW) just like floppy drive or flash drive. Of course, you will need the program in the computer inorder to write, w/o it, it will just read it.

I haven't installed it yet. Is Sonic Solutions DLA 5.x recommended?
I have the Sonic DigitalMedia v.7 LE CD Dell sent me, does it include the Sonic Solutions DLA 5.x in it?
Thanks. -

Hello again,
What I mean by drop and drag is by copy and paste, hehe. I dont normally use the drop and drag technique. But its should work. Once, you have format the CD/DVD, you can just copy and paste (or drop and drag) and it will write. I dont think DLA program came with it. Here is the link to dl it for free.

Allows you to open data DVDs created using Sonic/Roxio on computers that don't have the Sonic software. All they would need is the DLA function. Sounds similar to BsClip packet writing software.

Exactly.
