I personally hate roxio creator. I never had a good experience with it and it uses way too much of your system resources. I prefer nero but there is other stuff out there. Or just drag and drop if your burning multiple files onto a cd. most people don't realize that you can just open the cd, drag and drop everything and click burn. I don't know about vista but you could do it for cds in xp.

I use Roxio Easy Media Creator 9.
It has its good and bad points. It makes everything very easy to use from one interface. You can start any kind of project by flicking through tabs to the desired type of project you are after, whether its a copy, data, audio, and so on. I also like the fact that it has various other small tools that are helpful, like the file conversion, such as DVD to DivX, or MP4, and so on.

However, it also has bad points. It takes a lot of space and uses quite a bit of system resource. Because of this Ive cut down on using it. For example, where I used to use the Roxio tools to edit video and create nice video projects to put onto DVD, I now use Windows Movie Maker, since it does the same sort of task but with much faster processing.

I may reinstall Roxio on my new system, but I would install the entire suit. I may just go for a few of the tools, but thats if I cant find anything else to do it.....

That leads me on to a few questions on the same subject.......Windows Vista/XP can be used to burn files to disc now, so there is no need for seperate software - Ive always used Roxio for this, so to those who use Windows, how well does it work?? Can you do the same with audio??

What if I wanted to burn a MP3 file to an audio disc so it was playable in normal CD players etc - does Windows also do the conversion? Or is this done in Media Player??

Also, what else could I use to copy a disc rather then using Roxio Disc Copier - whether its data or audio??

I think if I had the above covered, I would probably ditch Roxio as well, since I wouldnt have a need for it - even though it is a nice package, bringing many different tools together into one interface....
