During Christmas I ordered a Sony FZ290 and a Dell 1530. I liked both of them but the Dell LCD display sucked side by side to the Sony's Xbrite HIColor screen. I ended up send both of them back. The Dell had problems ejecting the disk plus the screen issue. The Sony had a warped keyboard.

I have a FZ4000 on backorder but I can get so much more with the Dell and my 12% discount. Like 3GB RAM, 320GB HD, Better video card. Higher resolution screen, two batteries and a better extended warranty for the same price as the Sony.

I would wnat to get the Dell with the 1440x900 screen and from what I'm reading the LG display is my better.

Can anyone give me a comparison between the better LG screen on the Dell and a Sony Xbrite Hicolor? That is the main thing that is holding me back as when I had to Dell and Sony side by side the Sony screen was much much better.

One more thing is that I have had to call Sony customer care a couple of time for simple things and their service blows!! Makes me not want to order from them..

If you're in the US, you might consider ordering a Sony from Portable One.
Then you'd get your service from Portable One, and they've been getting much better service ratings than Sony.

Portable One also builds their own custom laptops, so you might be interested in checking to see if one of them is comparable to what you want.
