    Hey i have a vostro 1500! i erased vista basic, and stuck ultimate on here. Now every time i shutdown and start back up i need to reinstall the sound drivers! whats going on?

    Oh yeh and has anyone else had the problem when ur typing and it just skips back a few words?

    can't help you on the sound issue since never had it , but the skipping issue .. well I almost painted my laptop in blue and throwed it to the ocean but then I found out why..
    since vista doesn't have the synaptics driver (the built-in mouse) every little touch to the pad considered as a mouse click/drag , so just be careful with your hands while typing , in windows XP there is a proper driver for the pad which handles those random touches quite well.

    which sound driver are you loading? Be sure to install the driver from dell.com support site.

    Its off the dell drivers disc they gave me!
