I just recieved my 9300 last week and i love it. So far i only have one complaint. If i turn the speakers up too loud there is a terribly annoying buzz. Im not talking about turning it "all the way to 11." Somewhere around 25% - 30% system volume it starts to sound pretty awful for just about any application (movies, music, notification sounds, etc.). I determined that it is the buttons just below the touch pad that are vibrating and causing the problem. I think its a direct result of the "subwoofer" which is located diretly below said area (poor design? i think so). I was wondering if a)others have experienced this problem or if its just that i got a bad break and b)if it is possible to turn off just that speaker to avoid the problem, as I would much rather have less bass and no distracting buzz. When i watch DVDs i end up having to hold my hand on the touch pad in order to enjoy the movies, which is rather annoying for 2 hours straight.

I haven't had any problems like that, but I read in the 9300 review that you can adjust the subwoofer settings. In order to change the subwoofer settings, go to volume control and it should have an adjustment for subwoofer there. If it doesn't, click on options in the left hand corner, then properties and make sure subwoofer is checked.
If the problem continues, I would contact dell and get it repaired since you just got it. I haven't heard of any problems like that, so it sounds like you just got a bad apple. You have my sympathy...it would drive me crazy to watch a dvd like that.
Hope this helps,
Amber

Your welcome. If you don't feel comfortable taking off the keyboard yourself, CompUSA or something similar might do it for a small fee. Just in case Dell didn't tell you, there is "how to change out your keyboard" on their troubleshooting/upgrading site.
I agree with the sound quality.I lowered mine cause my subwoofer tickles me when its laying on my stomach, but the sound is really bad now.
I hope the new keyboard solves your problem.

Thanks for the advice. I found the subwoofer settings like you said. It definately helped the buzzing sound but turning the sub down made the general sound quality ALOT worse then i thought it was going to. It was just really "tinny" sounding. I called dell support and chatted with india for awhile and they said they were going to send out a new keyboard which includes the touchpad buttons. Im a little worried about having to take the old one off and put the new one on but I guess it won't be too bad. Im hoping it will fix the problem but if not at least ill have a spare keyboard lying around in case this one ever breaks. thanks again for the reply.

Did the new keyboard solve the issue?
I'm having the exact same issue on a Dell 9300 I just purchased at a computer show.
I appreciate your time to provide some feedback. Thanks!
