This has been bothering me for months. I got it working a couple times, but it was completely random. Currently I downloaded the latest sound drivers I could find but still no input or output at all when I plug my electric guitar into the mic jack.

    Any help would be great,
    Thanks.

Also, it does display some input when the mic is being plugged in and out. I'm also using ASIO4ALL

I just plugged my guitar into my 1500 and it seems to work - not brilliantly, but the levels are ok.

What kind of guitar is it? What pickups? Not that I'll probably be able to help.
