Hey, I have had a 1520 for a few months now. I cant listen to music on it because it annoys the hell out of me. It breaks up and stutters all of the time. Anything I can do to fix this?

    I am using vista.

Call Dell. My sound was kind of annoying, so they replaced my whole motherboard, and now it's about as good as it gets on these models (which isn't that great, but not too bad; it only stutters when the screen goes off and then I hit a key or something to turn it back on....it stutters like crazy then :p).

pixelot, was it a big hassle to get them to do that? I have the same problem with my 1400 and have spent countless hours with tech support but they still couldn't fix it. They said it might be my motherboard but they would not replace it. This was several months ago and I just gave up.

Man, I just talked to a rep, he had me run diagnostics, he took control of my computer and checked the drivers and stuff, and then said, "Ok, I'll call back." He never did. So I called again, got a different guy, and he looked up my case number and then said, "Well, the only thing left is to replace your sound card, which would necessitate replacing the motherboard, so I'll have the tech out there next week." And he was! :D

I hope that is what happens for me. I bet it is the sound card as well.
