Any major new features or improvements?
*edit: I looked at their SP3 white paper and it doesn't sound too exciting. Nothing really new that wasn't already available as updates (e.g., WPA2 support). Any noticeable performance improvements? -
Those who will find improvements will be the one who will do a fresh install as all updates will already be applied...
-
I like it so far...
You won't see the "click here to active this..." message anymore when you surf through web sites with flash/java contents... Overall, I feel my system is a bit more responsive than before! -
so are you saying clean install to install it or its fine to continue without as long as performance is not a worry?

Yeah that's build 3264--Terrible link to give considering the Final is out.
-
Sorry about that guys... I downloaded the link I provided and compared it to the one I had earlier, and I just checked the name and I thought it was the same.
The final one should have this specs:
File Name: WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe
Size: 316mb (331,805,736 bytes)
I updated my old laptop and this is what I see:
I uploaded it to rapidshare for my friends. PM me for the links if you want... I'm not sure if it's appropiate to post the links here... -
If I were a little bit more stupid I would just format my desktop once again! Luckily, I found the solution to save my desktop without losing any data.
However, your misleading link still made me so angry! -
The complete error message for all I got with the Lenova T61 was..
STOP:c0000139{EntryPointNotFound}The procedure entry point GdiGetBitMapBitSize cound not be located in the dynamic link library GDI32.dll.
Yes, it will keep rebooting the system and F8 options for boot all end up with the same screen error message.
I am not angry, I know somehow someone will help with the easy fix.
My other option is to reload the XP Pro SP2 and spend about 4 hours to reconfig the whole laptop.
I would prefer not to do this, but will if there are no other options.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Blessings,

To All this may work for you..
Google does work the quick wonder sometimes...
1. boot from a Windows CD and go for the repair option.
2. Copy gdi32.dll from c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386\gdi32.dll to c:\windows\system32\gdi32.dll. (Do keep a backup copy of the old gdi32.dll in c:\windows\system32 directory)
3. Reboot normally
I hope this works for anyone who tried this foolish download.
I thought this was the final SP3 for WinXP PRO. Oh well, it is late here were I am and one's discrimination falls apart after midnight looking at code all day long.
Like in my post before, why be mad about these things?
Always, it takes a little patience and googling.
Blessings,
