I've been reading many threads on somewhat related problems that people were having.

The right speaker of my notebook makes a noise between a crackle or a screech noise when music is played through it. It's most notable when high frequencies are being played.

This has nothing to do with the reported CPU whine, which I notice when the 4th power state of the CPU is entered (correctable by preventing that).

I have the latest bios. I've tried numerous video drivers, but I don't believe this issue is related to the video driver as I downgraded to the basic vista driver and the noise was still present.

I only notice it coming from the right speaker. Does anyone else notice this?

I have a on-site dell repair warranty. If I call them up with attempt to repair my laptop by taking it for a few days? I can't go without this laptop for weeks.

Thanks for any help. This laptop otherwise has been excellent.

If you have a built in wireless network card that support both A and B/G wifi standards it might help to disable the A mode.

I'm using a wireless draft-n network. In the options for the network card, I can change to :a, b, g, ab, bg, abg. Since I'm running N on the same frequency as A, disabling A disconnects me from my network....

    Any other ideas?

I just tried disabling the entire card, and it didn't help. ..
