They'er as good as mono speakers will get. That's not that much, but it's good enough for private use like watching a movie with your roomate in your dorm or something. I'd recommend getting external speakers or headphones or both.

I can't tell the difference between the mono speaker in the D620 and the stereo speakers in other business notebooks. They are all mediocre but adequate.

They are adequate. At times, I forget that there is only one speaker.

From what I've experienced, most all business notebooks have basically the same sound performance.

This was one thing that held me back for awhile, but I finally realized...most of the time I'd be using a computer, I'm either home or in a public place, and at home, I'd use speakers (pretty much *all* laptop speakers stink compared to external ones), and when at coffee shops or such places, I'd always use headphones - so the one speaker isn't that big of a deal. And it actually sounds quite good, as others have said.

I find the D620 speaker to be adequate too. After all, who wants to hear the beep and error sound so loud?

I watch CNN news on it and it is loud in front of me. If you want to hear better, then get a headphone.
