Hey guys, super newbie question, can you connect normal external speakers that you would use on a desktop to the E1705?

It has a regular headphones jack, and you can connect regular powered speakers to that jack.

Most laptops have an integrated 2.1 sound card. So yes you can connect 2 speakers + a subwoofer.
