I have a 200 GB Hitachi HDD on my M1330 notebook.

The Hitachi "Feature Tool" gives me the option to enable/disable "spread spectrum clocking".

Does anyone know if the M1330 supports SSC & if so is it a good idea (or not) to enable it?

    Thanks.

SSC is really only a good idea if electromagnetic emissions are a real problem, because it can have detrimental effects on your hard drive's performance.

I've been trying to think when electromagnetic emissions might be a problem... I suppose it is something that could be tried if you have nasty electronic interference on your audio.

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm not aware of any interference problems so I guess I'll leave it disabled. Don't want to risk any performance problems with the notebook & I'm not sure that this machine supports it anyway...
