I was wondering if anyone here has ordered one of these and used it? I just (5 days ago) switched to sprint and am currently using my phone as modem. I have since then found out about what is called Sprint SERO which is a much cheaper way to go overall. If I take my phone back and order a new phone through Sprint SERO, and a mobile broadband card, I can save $5 a month, plus have more minutes, and two seperate lines, so no missing calls cuz im on the net, and I also get A LOT more features on my phone, and I won't need to always be running bluetooth when I use the card. Plus the cards are supposed to run at Rev. A EVDO speed which is much quicker then Rev. 0 which the phones run at. So I was just wondering if anyone had the card that actually sits inside the 1520, and how well it has worked for you. Thanks.

I don't use Sprint, but use Verizon EVDO. EVDO actually has rev 0 and rev A. I'm using the EVDO Rev A and it works great. I was using an external USB device for this before, and don't notice any differences in terms of speed or reception. I'm also using the 1420, not the 1520, but same thing really. It's very convenient to open up your notebook and automatically be online without having to fumble with any other external devices. :] Cheers.

I have it w/PCMCIA card EVDO rev A, I download 30MB's in less than 5 minutes in Chicago. I pay $60 a month unlimited usage! See my Sig. Built in would be nice but same technology!
Edit: Also remember because it is digital signal strength does not affect thruput but power consumption. -
my biggest thing was just the signal strength of say their expresscard, vs the Dell module that fits inside the 1520. The battery life and speed I am not as much worried about, as I wouldn't have it active all that much at times when I would be on my battery, but even if I was, I could deactivate the wifi card, and maybe even my bluetooth, which the power savings of those two would most likely outweigh the cellular card's usage.

If you travel, I'd recommend am AT&T HSDPA setup, in the cities it can equal EVDO Rev A, but VZW and Sprint use the practically worthless CDMA 1x network in the styx, which is half the speed of dial-up under good conditions. AT&T and T-Mobile use EDGE (T-Mo is exclusively EDGE while AT&T has 3G in the major cities), which is 8 times faster. -
did you use bluetooth w/ laptop for internet? thats what i plan on doing
Sprint Mobile Broadband card for 1520
