Problems started with my vostro. When I try to decrease the lcd brightness a strange noise comes from the right corner of the lcd. When I set the brightness to max the noise goes away. When I plug in the ac power the noise stops. Anyone ever experienced this with their new vostro. I guess that this vostro is going back.
When I tilt the lcd screen with reduced brightness level, the noise increases and decreases randomly. The noise is like coming from the lcd screen. There is no noise when the brightness is set to max.

Is this a defective lcd screen? or lcd connection?

hmm thats weird, i've changed my brightness but have never had a high pitch noise coming from the screen. I have a barely noticeable high pitch noise coming from under the keyboard though.

That's not a high pitch noise. It's something else, like an interference from the lcd.

I have this exact problem, anything but full brightness causes a buzzing noise. Sounds like a resistor on the backlight voltage buzzing.

    Anyone else have this problem?

    Hello,

I've just found this thread, though it's a few month old thread, does anyone actually have any solution for this weird LCD noise?
I have exactly same problem on my new Dell D830. I talked to Dell and they shipped me another new one, but they all have same problem.
It's very annoying to keep listening this noise all the way while I'm typing the codes. In my case, the noise doesn't go away even I plug in the AC power. It just stay there as long as the LCD power's on.
