    Does this harm my unit every time i touch it? I literally almost see a spark after draggin my feet to my lappy and sitting down. I don't notice a difference after the shock but didn't know if I am actually harming the system.

    I think your fine as long as you don't touch the inside of the laptop without being grounded ( just touch bare metal).

    I kept Zapping my old Sony FS (its palmrest is made of Magnesium alloy, I believe), but it didn't break it. Combined with some unfortunate accidents it had, I was amazed how it survived, for the most part anyway.

    But I am using my FZ more carefully

    Note, be careful if you are all charged up with static electricity when you are plugging things into your headphone jack. I did it once and my computer froze...fortunately for me a reboot refreshed everything, but there have been instances where the sound card was damaged.
