Anyone else here experience some static / cutting out on their laptop speakers on their Dell E1505 machine? I just noticed it today, and it happened twice, but not the third time. When I turned on / rebooted the computer the normal "Start Windows" Sound came on when I logged in to Win XP, but it was cutting in and out and was staticky. Just curious. Thanks.

Mine did that when it had an issue with the CDRom. Check your secondary IDE drivers in the device manager. If it isnn't set to DMA, or Ultra DMA, then delete them, restart, and let windows reinstall them. This may do the trick... see this thread for more info... http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=50573
