I ordered my M1530 the night of May 28th, my ESD is the 17th of June. I called this morning and my laptop has made it to the testing stage, does this mean that my laptop is ahead of schedule, or is this a usual time for this to occur.

Lol, that is nothing nice to say, yours is still in the build stage, could it be due to your screen.

    I was kidding lol...
Congrats on being in testing...that's really fast...

    Yeah...it probably is my screen...
I've been kicking myself for not getting the LED...

I'm kicking myself for not getting an LED too, but then again I wouldn't be able to afford it as I'm going into college and I'm short on money, so what I have will have to make due.

I ordered mine on the morning of the 28th. I called this morning at 7:29AM and it's in the build stage. Maybe when I get home it'll be in testing, but I doubt it.

I , personally have been getting the runaround from Dell; sometimes they tell me the 6 cell-battery is out of stock other times they tell me that everything is on track to ship on 6/4... either way I AM STILL IN FCKING BUILD STAGE-- which is really ridiculous.... btw congrats on getting ur order to go through so quickly.

There must be an unannounced shortage in T9300's, thats what you guys have in common, also, by the way my order has gone by so far, how long do you guy think the Testing stage should last and it will ship.

As far as I know testing lasts a couple of hours and then you go to boxing which lasts 1 - 3 days...

    Then it should ship...

Mine has been in testing since 5am this morning. Must be the SAT's or something like that. Knowing my luck it will come out scoring 600 or lower. :(

That sounds nice, is the ideal world, but is that really what it is realistically. Because really, if this was a perfect world, the whole process is only supposed to take 4-5 hours from order to shipping.

Your laptop should get a 600 just for booting up, lol, if not we have to rethink this whole moores law thing and that part where computers are geting smarter by the seconds.

I ordered mine the 10th of May and I'm still in buildning.

    Any idea what's causing the delay? Got the;
    Jet-Black
    T9300
    250GB 7200rpm
    LED
    4GB
    6-cell
    Bluetooth
    Intel N

    Thanks!

I am sticking by my theory that there is a delay in the T9300, you all have that in common.

I have an odd feeling it is the 6cell battery because I have seen it say (may delay ur xps m1530) under it for the past few weeks...it can also be the LED as well because since the 1680x1050 screen has been recently phased out and they are probably trying to replace screens (my theory)...

I wonder what is taking mine so long to build then. I have the T8300 and the LED. Maybe the 250GB 5400RPM? I'm about ready to call and talk to someone just so I can get a solid answer on why its going to take so long to build and then not worry about it coming anytime soon.

It took 5 weeks from the date of order, to delievery. At first I was told it was my 250gb 7200rpm hdd...then it was the battery.

The battery thing makes sense I guess.

Yeah its pretty bad that you either pay way to much to get your laptop faster by getting the expensive 9 cell or you get the standard battery at outrageous delays. I just quoted a HP laptop that I could have delivered before my dell ESD. Suck that I've had my heart set on the xps since January.

It cant be the 6 cell battery, mine has gone into boxing and I bought it 5 days ago, and I got the 6 cell battery. Anyone know how long it should take to get to me if I have over night shipping and it went in to boxing today. I have one idea on your guys delays, how did you guys order yours, over the phone or online, that could be a point of interest.

wow very nice. I ordered on 05/25 with a ESD of 06/13. I wish I was testing already :( . I have the 2.2 ghz cpu, 256 mb Gf, 160 hd, 6 cell battery and the 1440 x 900 screen. That would make my year if I could test soon! haha.

Well yea, I ordered mine over the phone because I know they give you good deals and the free overnight shipping, and maybe they put expediated production on it so that you will suggest them to others.

I must say though...remember reading the older review o_O how the six cell was damaged in production...maybe they're trying to avoid damages o_O i dunno but the review is old and it would be a shame if dell did not work this out already?

I guess that's when it could arrive...no idea really...
If you have overnight shipping then probably just the day after it ships...

there as a slight delay on both 6-cells and the T9300 but as to how they are processing orders it makes no sense to me, my notebook is the hands of dhl right now and scheduled for delivery tomorrow while drpeppir who ordered before me with nearly an identical setup is still in build, there are many more cases like this on the board than drpeppirs, just dosent make sense, im not complaining that im getting my laptop already but im one for fairness and think orders should be proccessed in the order they were ordered in (thats alot of usage of the word order in a sentence there folks!)

Does anyone know when the battery is added to the laptop. Is it added in the build stage, or do they throw it in when they are boxing. The only reason I wonder is because they are having an 8+ day delay on the 6 cells and my laptop is past build and now in boxing.
