1505 stickers...
Just wondering but i got my 1505 yesterday... It does not have a core duo sticker on it, which seemed a little odd to me. It simply has the Intel Centrino sticker alongside the "Designed for Windows XP" sticker. Did other people get the duo core sticker? I have the T2500...
I will take a pic tonight when i get home.
-
Put me down for a "Yes"... Duo Core
Mark -
i just got a e1505 and I dont have the sticker either
just centrino
-
Right click My Computer and select Properties should show 2 processors there. Press Ctrl Alt Del to bring up the Task Manager select Performance should show 2 chart on CPU Usage History. My E1505 should arrive next week and I will let you know what label on there. May be Dell use the Centrino label on the notebook line.
-
Don't bother about that since your notebook comes with core duo. The sticker doesn't mean anything for me, perhaps Dell out of stock core duo sticker
-
My first e1505 only had the centrino sticker (had to return it due to bad row of pixels on screen)... replacement arriving tomorrow.
Even though it didnt have a core-duo sticker it had 2 CPUs in task manager. Honestly id be happy with a sticker free notebook. ;-) -
mine arrived 4/4 and guess whatt.......Intel Core Duo inside right next to the windows xp sticker. Hey i got Windows Media Center but an XP decal
Now i feel cheated :/
I'll get over it though -
Mine just came with the "XP" and "Intel Centrino" stickers.
Also, Does the e1505 use the centrino duo core processor? I really want that sticker. -
Mine came with a centrino sticker too. I was a little crazy too when i first saw it.. Now seeing that there are a lot of us out there, m thinking what the heck.. its jus a sticker.. You'll get over it.. atleast I am. I even called Dell that day and they didnt know wat to say..
-
I did see in the task manager, there are two processors... Iam just wondering why they put a "centrino" sticker on it, when they could and should have put a "duo core" sticker on it... lol i guess they had some extra centrino stickers lying around...
-
You know-
I am really surpised how many people care about the stickers that came on their laptop, i.e.: centrino vs. duo. I have to ask, why do you care what .00000001 cent sticker came on your computer, when you got what you actually ordered? I think its fascinating. Pretty soon we're all going to be paying for some fancy accessory logo that has 11 LED's that blink, whiz, and twinkle, identifying exactly what's under our computer's hood. I plan to pay 500$, tops.
Thats my 2 cents. -
-
LOL ...i think you guys are reading into this way too much. It didn't sound to me like anybody was that concerned over this... It was just an observation, and a question... "why?" ...nobody said they were returning their machines on acount of it... -
If you really want one, there's one listed on FleaBay. Just do a search for 'Intel Centrino Duo Badge'.
-
I wonder if the sticker would help for the resale value. Also if it came with a "Vista Ready" sticker that would help selling in a couple years I would think. Or maybe it woudn't do anything...
-
MIne has the centrino sticker also. I think this may be because I have the intel wireless card. Does anyone with the Core Duo sticker have the intel wireless card?
-
I've order a few E1505/E1705 for a a few people including myself. It works like this:
You will get a Centrino sticker if:
You have an Intel Chip.
You have an Intel chipset.
You have an Intel Wireless chipset.
You will get a Core Duo/Solo sticker if:
You have an Intel Chip.
You have an Intel chipset.
You ordered something other than a Intel Wireless chipset (cough, cough, Dell Wireless 13-soemthing something).
It's that cut and dry. -
Well, technically, it should be (for those that are curious):
Pentium M, Intel Chipset, Intel Wireless = "Intel Centrino" (old version)
Core Duo, Intel Chipset, Intel Wireless = "Intel Centrino Duo"
Core Solo, Intel Chipset, Intel Wireless = "Intel Centrino" (new version)
Pentium M, Anything else = "Intel Pentium M Inside"
Core Duo, Anything else = "Intel Core Duo Inside"
Core Solo, Anything else = "Intel Core Solo Inside"
The final answer:

FYI, got my 9400 with a "Intel Centrino Duo" sticker... back in Jan/Feb -
PS: No Offence..
I HAVE AN INTEL CORE DUO PROCESSOR, AN INTEL CHIPSET AND AN Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection on my E1505, but in case:
Core Duo, Intel Chipset, Intel Wireless != "Intel Centrino Duo".
Also FYI, I am not going to return my laptop and m not so crazy about the STICKER!!
All I'm trying to point out is that there is something wrong here. How can a high profile company like Dell screw up on such a basic thing. Have they not heard of TQM. Also I'm wondering what Intel will have to say about this, if at all they found out. It clearly is wrong.
The Intel website states clearly the difference between these:
Intel Centrino Duo
Intel Centrino (New)
Intel Centrino (Mobile Technology)

Yeah, no offence taken... or implied...
Just trying to indicate what the different types are for those who may not know. I realize you (and others) have a Centrino Duo system, just not the sticker. I couldn't care less about the sticker. Yeah, who knows why Dell didn't put the right ones on the machines.
Oh well. Move on... nothing more to see here... -
TQM is for bloated companies that take way too long to respond to the market. i don't think Dell ever used that model.
-
What I meant was that IMO I'm sure they can do better. -
CPU usage should have to windows righT?
-
Centrino Technology
Centrino has been around for several years now. It is Intel's complete wireless solution. Intel has released the next generation of Centrino, called "Centrino Duo".
In order for a system to bear the Centrino Duo logo, the system must contain the following hardware:
Intel Core Duo Processor
Intel Napa Chipset
Intel Wireless Card -
^ that's what I have, but no "duo" on the sticker... oh well.
-
Otherwise, you'll get the Core Duo Inside logo
-
I just have the "Centrino" sticker. I have Integrated Intel Graphics, Intel T2400processor, and Intel Wireless. I've never been so "Inteled out" in my life!
-
lol, I ordered the same system on 04/01. Hopefully I would get the centrino duo sticker. I also have all the intel requirements. Do you know anything about dell shipping timing (International - Central America) ?
-
I don't know about international, but I recieved mine exactly 1 week after ordering it (3/31, recieved 4/7) probably takes a little longer internationally.
-
well, my ETA is april 12, so let♥s see....
