So I've had TWO adapters burn up on me on my e1705... a 90 watt, and a 65w. Here's a trick I found... if you have no green light, and it's making a very quiet beeping noise... take the cord that goes to the laptop, AND STRETCH IT!!! but only with about 15 pounds of pressure... about the same amount of force required to rip apart a cardboard box, no more, or you may break the wires.

Stretch the cord and get it as straight as you can, and more than likely, you can plug it in and It will work fine... I would imagine it's a temporary fix only because it would indicate a shorted wire somewhere... but it may buy you some time to get a new PSU. So before you toss your adapter away, stretch the wires!!! You might get some more juice out of it, yet!!!!!

Bump... anyone tried this with a dead PSU? I'm excited to see if this works on others.
