I bought the Inspiron 7537 refurbished from Dell but the space bar often doesn't register key presses, and it has to be hit right in the middle to properly register a press. If I press it on either side about 0.5 inches from the edge it does not register the press at all. Maybe at about 0.75 inches in it then starts to register the press if it is pressed hard.
I am willing to send this back and buy another Dell 7537 as long as this is not an issue that is common to all of these Inspirons. I seen a number of reviews where people had mentioned the space bar being stiff, but I don't know if it is a common problem.
Any opinions on this? I dread the thought of ordering a second Inspiron a few months down the road only to find it has the same issue.

OK, well I'll reply to my own thread then. I rang Dell and one guy on the line told me it was a "known issue" and was not desirable. He then put me through to the returns department and the lady there tried to tell me she had never heard of it before. In any case they are collecting the laptop and will waive the collection fee.
I am a bit concerned about ordering another Dell unless they have addressed this issue with newer laptops. Apart from that the colours on the display did not seem to be as vibrant as the Sony Vaio but I could be wrong. Overall it is disappointing that you can spend so much money on these laptops and still have such basic issues. -

My space bar is fine.

Thanks. I guess they wanted to sell it on without fixing it. I will consider buying one new in that case.

how's your trackpad? I tried to use three-finger multi gesture, but it seems doesn't work on chrome.
