    Are there still major flaws with the Vista operating system? I would hate to get a new laptop and not be happy with it because of Vista...

    Vista Works Fine im using Vista Ultimate without Service pack 1 and it works fine, jst make sure you have a dual core processor and 2gb of ram and it will run just as good as XP

    jut got vista and i cant stand it, everything is soooo much more complex, you need to go to 200 things to get to network connections

    This thread will cause no productive discussion and will continue to draw "flame bait" so with that in mind, it is now closed.

    Since no one can tell you whether or not you will be happy with vista, do your own research(NBR and Google search will help you find a lot of info) and decide for yourself. Vista has pleased(and annoyed) many users and only you can decide for yourself if you will be pleased with vista.

    FYI, there is a tweak guide for Vista sticked in the windows forum. It will help you get all the performance out of vista and take care of some of the annoying aspects of Vista like UAC
