Still in production and supposed to ship

My studio 15 is still "In Production" (in the build stage) even though its supposed to ship today. Whats the deal? Is their system not updated or something?

 

Is it through the website or the 1-800 number (if you are in the USA)

 

On the website is says "In Production". I called up the 18004339014 number and they say its in the "build" stage.

EST Ship date 8/5
EST delievery 8/7

Hasnt shipped yet according to the web or phone, but isnt there like 3 other steps it has to go through b4 shipping? They better not delay the ****ing thing

LMAO... I ordered mines on July 26th and I have/had the same ship date as you but now mines got delayed until the 12!!!!!

I called and its currently in the boxing stage so what I think and hope is that they put a new ship date that is far off so I wont be mad if it ships earlier. Because I mean seriously does it take a week to box it?

 

I ordered mine July 27th and mine was supposed to ship today 8/5. I got an email saying it was delayed till the 12th. They wouldn't tell me what delayed it. Just an unexpected delay.

 

They must really be in high demand... My friend just got one but she bought it from Best Buy so she will get hers on Friday.

I will be so pissed if she gets hers before I get mines lol... Then again at leat mines is custom built to my specs... so I guess its worth the wait (but im still mad lol)

 

Mine's delayed as well. Looks like whatever shipment they were getting isn't on time. Dammit. I'm depressed now.

 

I haven't gotten the dreaded email yet about a new shipment date, but I'm sure it's coming. Ordered mine on July 29th and it's supposed to be shipped August 7th which is this Thursday. Since it still says "in production" on the website, I think I'm screwed. Although someone mentioned in another thread that theirs said in production even after it was shipped so who knows?

 

Just found out officially its delayed, pieces of ****. Im soo pissed off, they give a date that is weeks away, then they delay it even more. They aren't doing anything good to gain more customers i can tell u that.

 

mine was est 8/5 and arrive on 8/7 and it ****ing got delayed also! is there away i can get get some free stuff out of it? maybe get overnight shipping and some other free things?

Mine was supposed to ship today. I called and they I asked them, since it still was in the build stage, if it will still ship today. They told me it will because there are no delays showing for what I ordered. I then got an email a few hours later saying it was delayed until the 12th which isn't bad. I just hope I don't get delayed more.

I just wanted it a couple of weeks before i start college. Now im getting a big whole ****ing 10-12 days before i start and im not looking forward to go back to school.

This laptop is the only thing ive been looking forward to the whole summer. ****in A.....

 

Called today and Dell said that they were waiting on my 6-cell Battery. Ordered mine on 7/22/08 Hopefully it ships tomorrow.

 

i ordered mine the same day as you. even had the same original ESD and same delay to be shipped on the 7th (tomorrow). i'm pretty sure it's gonna be delayed again cause who knows how long it'll take to get those damn batteries. they should just ship the laptops to us without it cause you can still run them with an A/C adaptor and then rush the batteries to us later. HAHA.

 

I wish man, i dont give a rats ass about the battery right now. Just want the damn system.

LOL dam haha i feel like all of you. Im a bit confused, maybe you guys can help me clarify some stuff. I ordered my 1530 on the 12th, the next day the online status was "in production" and has been so ever since. called the 1-800-433-9014 number and its in "boxing stage" anybody know which one is more up to date? (does it REALLY take 2-3 days to put a laptop in a box?)
Order date: 8/12/08
ESD: 8/27/08
EDD: 9/1-3/08

 

The boxing stage is actually part of the production stage, so yes, it is up to date. The call just happens to be more detailed.

 

So i should stop celebrating, thinking that im going to receive my lappy sooner than expected huh....

 

Both part of the same... The boxing stage is a good thing!

Remember...the ESD is *over-projected*, they do that to cover their bases....so all is in working order with you lappy!

So, you could very well get it sooner than the ESD....

My 1530 was received sooner than the ESD by about 3 days!

Press 1 for English, and 2 for customer care. Then, you would want to Press 1 again to speak with the rep. to see what the status is of your order is!

Or, you can just *chat it up with Dell*...Though I avoid that...haven't had the best results in that area But you, may have good results, don't get me wrong!

My final specs are in my sig and if i change( only because someone tells me that something else is better) my sig will change.

And of course I'll tell you all! I should be ordering around September 10 maybe 15th. Look out for a thread around then maybe sooner.

The ship date is a joke. My studio17 shipped like 4 weeks earlier than the date.

 

yea Dell can suck my left nut, they suck at keeping orders straight and explaining *** they are doing. I ordered a Studio 15 from them back in the middle of July and after getting delayed twice, and of course they didnt say it would be delayed til the day it was supposed to ship so it got my hopes up every time, but then after the second delay they left a message on my phone saying it was federal law to cancel the order if i didnt give consent to continue, well they didnt even give me a full day to call before canceling it even though i intented to consent the next morning, in fact i did call that night and left a message like they said to but i guess they ignore it cause the next morning its canceled and when i call that same day to say hey i didnt want it cancelled they say they cant continue the order and i have to fill out a whole new one adding another month to wait even though right before it was cancelled i had finally reached the long awaited boxing stage. i dont get it, why the hell cant they find my stuff and have it ship, its obviously done being built it was just being boxed and it was the same day they couldnt have already taken my laptop apart that quickly, and im sure some lucky person who happened to have the same setup as me probably got mine and early too since it was already built and now i have to wait til september 9th

 

Ordered my on the 15th and it's stated that delivery will take place on or before the 5th of November. Right now the status is in-Production. What are the chances that I'll receive my Studio 17 next week. Only add-on options I've included are bluetooth and 9-cell battery.
