    Hello,

i have a strange display problem on my laptop where small about horizental yellow lines appear on the screen and when u move windows around they cause everything to go yellow.

At first this problem only happened when in 32Bit Color Mode, simply switching to 16Bit Color fixed it.

Now its happening even at 16bit color mode so i have to fix it.

    My Laptop is a Dell XPS Gen 2, Centrino 2.1, 1GB Ram, 17" 1920x1200 Screen, 80GB IDE HD, NVIDIA 6800 Ultra 256

The strange part is that this problem still happens when you connect an external Monitor either by VGA or DVI, u still get those lines on the external monitor.

Is it the video card? i really cant figure this one out.

If it is the video card, i can replace it myself, but where do i buy a replacement?

Attached Screenshot of problem. Another strange thing is that the artifacts appear when taking a screenshot, which should mean that it really not the monitor, right?

It has to be your VGA card (or a driver issue), not your screen for sure, otherwise you wouldn't get it on an external monitor nor you'd be able to get a screen shot of it.

Have you tried with a different set of driers ? By looking at your screenshot I feel its more likely a hardware issue than a software problem.

You can find replacement cards on eBay and from few other notebook accessory sellers, but they would be expensive. Especially for a high-end GTX series card.
