This has only occured twice, and it doesn't really bother me, but I'm curious.

The last time I shut my laptop down, Vista reached the "Shutting Down" screen, and just before the screen went dark and the laptop actually shuts off, the CD-Drive pops open.

Again, it doesn't affect anything, nor does it bother, but I'm just curious.

EDIT: Damn....I left the "n" out of the title. I noticed it just as I hit submit. I'm good.

EDIT 2: Nevermind, I guess an admin. changed it for me. Thanks!

Well, I've googled it, but nothing turns up, which is why I came here.

No. I've had this laptop since last August 2007, and I just recently upgraded to Vista, which was a few weeks ago actually. This has just recently happend in the last 2 weeks. Again, I'm not worried or bothered. It's rare that it happens anyway. I just wanted to see if anyone else has encountered this.

Well, I'm going to test a solution.

I've went to device manager and uninstalled the driver for the CD drive, and rebooted. The driver reinstalled....so I guess we'll see what happens.
